Summary
As far as movie games go, Spider-Man is quite good. The usual expanding on the plot to get more gameplay mileage is here of course, and we've got some core film members reprising their roles, but overall we have a solid action game here, movie tie-in or not.
Spider-Man has you in a nice New York cityscape, swinging from some specific markers and fighting bad guys. The fighting is pretty limited however, and yet the core mechanic, so the game wears thin pretty quickly. Its decent overall however, just nothing to write home about.
The game however was rendered obsolete when 2 came out, thanks to its free form city, and really isn't worth it any longer. Onward to bigger and better!
Great but not even half as good as spiderman 2

This game is fun but some overall horrible voice acting and stupid comments every 4 seconds like mabey I should jump,I should climb this wall...ect.
Here are the basics
graphics:9 out of 10.Great for its time but pretty bad for now
gameplay:8.5 out of 10.Its a realy fun game but can get too difficult and repetitive after like a half hour at a time
controls:7.5 out of 10.Good but its realy easy to too forget the weird buttons you press and sometimes its hard to stop web swinging
overall:8 out of 10
This game is fun and worth a rent but you should be a real spiderman fan, or a geeky nerd who has to have every game out there but if you have played spiderman 2 you have seen everything this game has to offer.. The game is pretty cheap now though so mabey you should just consider buying it.Also just so you know it has a rough beginning but like 2 levels in the game gets realy fun.
The Gamecube version is hindered by a poor control layout, making it considerably less fun to play than its counterparts

Summary
First off, I'm a huge Spider-Man fan. Unfortunately, this game disappointed me. The main character you play as is, well, Spider-Man (aka Peter Parker). The plot starts out weirdly for those who've seen the movie, and it doesn't really show a whole lot of the relationship between Peter and his uncle. It does show some character development, but I didn't like it all that much. Visually the game looks good, since the buildings are detailed and the Spider-Man character model looks good. The enemies don't look that great, and there isn't much variety. The voice acting is great along with the overall sound in the game. However, the gameplay is where this game needs work in. You play as Spider-Man, swinging around in an open-ended environment. The swinging mechanics don't feel that great; you don't actually swing very fast, and you don't turn all that quickly. Combat is pretty much like a button-masher, as you're constantly hammering down on the two different attack buttons. The Gamecube control scheme ruins most of the gameplay. Mission designs are pretty basic--beat up everyone in sight, go to the next room, beat everyone up in there, and so on. The game does have some bad parts to it, but overall it's enjoyable, but if you've played the recent Spider-Man games, this will disappoint you.
A great spiderman game that can grow on you after awhile.

Summary
Everyone knows the stereotype: most video games based on movies just aren't that good. MOST. But this movie game is actually quite enjoyable.
The story follows the movie, where Peter Parker gets bit by a radioactive spider, gets his new powers, and has fun with them. But it costs him his uncle's life when he doesn't stop a robber that gets away and shoots his uncle. He's out for revenge now. After that episode, most of his levels deal with other villians not in the movie, such as shocker, vulture, and the main guy, the green goblin.
The gameplay is fun just because there is so much variety in combo attack moves and movement capabilities. In the game, as you explore, you find various golden spider pick-ups that give you new fighting moves to try out, adding to your punching, kicking, and web moves. You can also pick up and throw things at enemies, which can be really funny. Alone, the web zip allows you to run towards a wall and instantly stick to it, or you can stand still and use it to rocket to the ceiling in case a guard is coming or you just want to scale with ease. Unfortunately, the controls can glitch sometimes, so when you move foward, spiderman moves backward, and etc. but not all the time; it only happens for a second anyway, nothing to worry about. The jumping could be better too, and when you web swing out in the open, it can be kind of slow, but those things are completely forgiveable.
The environments are actually very nice and creative, some matching the movie and others making up new scenes that allow you to explore with ease.
This game is lots of fun, especially when you play as the green goblin, but spiderman is cool too. The spiderman movie game offers a lot to gamers who want to have a good time, so I recommend this to everyone. Have fun!
Memorable game that boasts wonderful graphics, gameplay, and just plain fun factor.

Summary
As Spider-Man, you venture around New York following the sequences from the movie, from beating up Uncle Ben's 'killer', to confronting the Green Goblin at the end. There are a few twists to the plot that weren't in the movie, like the 'breaking and entering' level, but it still stands well on its own.
The gameplay is great. Plenty of moves to execute and learn. The level designs are beautiful and fun to explore. Graphics were, I think, ahead of their time. It still looks good, even to this day. The environments are interactive - plenty of pick-ups for weapon usage. The bad guys are loud mouth jerks with guns that make you feel like you're actually there, dodging their bullets.
The thing I like about this game are the unlockable secrets. With the right codes, you can swing around the city as a security guard, a scientist, Peter Parker, Shocker, and even a couple of bonus Spidey suits. And, if you complete the game just right, you will unlock Green Goblin as a playable character, complete with glider and bombs. Of course, the Goblin is Harry Osborne, but still another reason to fly through the game again.
So I recommend this game, even though there are other current Spidey games out there. You will have a blast, and maybe even make some memories along the way.
